Presentation of the project content:
In the near future, a large number of vehicles older than 10 years equipped with high capacity lithium battery systems are likely to appear in our country at a critical time and in a critical condition in terms of wear and tear and warranty period.
The aim of the project is to create a marketable complex measurement system, mainly for the classification of used vehicle batteries. The consortium aims to develop an economical and efficient solution for domestic and foreign companies that want to dismantle, classify and recycle batteries, thus creating opportunities for extending the life cycle of batteries and for second-life recovery.
The main deliverable of the project is the Smart Vision Battery Test System, a device, a “sample factory”, i.e. a complex device for classifying used batteries, consisting of a modular complex hardware, measurement control software and prediction software using a database of previous measurements. In implementing the evaluation software, the consortium will investigate the possibility of using artificial intelligence and other prediction algorithms to complement the measurement database to improve the speed of testing.
The management of used batteries is far from being solved at the moment, although their number will continue to grow, and there is a worldwide market potential for the safe dismantling of vehicle batteries and for the classification and resale of used battery modules. The second use will reduce the carbon footprint of new products, typically storage devices, created from batteries and is expected to be an economical solution.
